The UK theatre industry has been one of the hardest hit this year, so we were delighted to be able to assist Ginger Quiff Media in striking two distribution license agreements with a New York-based on-demand digital platform.

Although live audiences will return in limited numbers this month, most venues will remain shut for the foreseeable future, with productions not financially viable at such reduced capacity.

Production companies and performers are finding creative ways to ensure the show will go on – with digital platforms giving audiences a chance to experience live theatre from their own homes.

Acting on behalf of Ginger Quiff Media, we advised on a distribution license relating to the online of Martin Sherman’s Rose – starring the award-winning stage and screen actress Dame Maureen Lipman – and a further contract covering the distribution of the Godspell 50th Anniversary Concert.

Hamed Ovaisi, managing director at SO Legal, said:

“We were delighted to assist the team at Ginger Quiff Media with reviewing these contracts. Intellectual property is a key asset which we help our clients to identify, protect, and commercialise as a means of generating revenue.”

Thomas Hopkins, co-founder of Ginger Quiff Media, said:

“I would like to thank SO Legal for their assistance with our distribution license agreements – it has been invaluable. I look forward to working with you on many more contracts.”

Ginger Quiff Media’s current productions include Rose, Godspell, Christmas West End Superstars, Little Wars, Private Peaceful and Falling Stars. For more information visit Ginger Quiff Media.
