Londis Eastbourne has opened its doors having secured a premises on Grove Road totalling almost 3,000 sq. ft with the assistance of SO Legal’s commercial property solicitors.

The independent, family-run business follows Londis’ ‘store of the future’ concept and stocks a wide range of everyday essentials – including confectionery, beers, wines and spirits, top-up grocery items, fresh produce, and food to go.

Hamish Smith, head of commercial property at SO Legal who led on the transaction said:

“We wish the team at Londis Eastbourne every success with their new store. This is a prime location in the centre of Eastbourne, and we are pleased to have assisted on securing the lease on the property. It’s great news for shoppers and has created more jobs in the local area in what has been a challenging year.”

SO Legal’s commercial property solicitors work with many clients in Eastbourne’s Little Chelsea quarter. The area, which includes Grove Road and South Street, is packed with independent businesses and was hailed by The Sunday Times magazine as one of the top ten coolest neighbourhoods in the UK.

Commercial property in Little Chelsea benefits from its proximity to Eastbourne’s mainline railway station and The Beacon retail centre – comprising 350,000 sq. ft of prime retail space with high-street names including Next, H&M, and Boots, as well as various restaurants and a multiplex cinema.

SO Legal works with businesses of all sizes, acting for both landlord and tenants in a variety of property transactions including retail, leisure, industrial units, and offices.
